Bomet University's first-ever graduation ceremony did take place on Friday 30 October 2026.

Live article 30, published on 30 October, framed the ceremony as scheduled and expected, because no same-day confirmation of the ceremony or of President William Ruto's attendance had been found at that time. Since then, the university's official YouTube stream, titled "1ST GRADUATION CEREMONY", confirms the ceremony was held on 30 October.

What is still not verified is the President's attendance. Pre-event reporting said he was expected to preside. No verified same-day report of his attendance has been found, and none is claimed here.

A TUKO story published on 31 October carried a family video of a graduate, Milicent, sourced from TikTok. It is a human-interest fragment, not a verified ceremony report, and no detail from it is stated as fact here beyond its existence.

The background stands as reported in article 30: Bomet University received its charter on 4 February 2026, becoming Kenya's 36th public chartered university, after operating as a constituent college of Moi University. Its Council Chair is Prof. John Shiundu and its Vice Chancellor is Prof. Charles Mutai. The university styles itself a "Green University for Sustainability".

What we could not verify: President Ruto's attendance; the number of graduands; any honorary awards; the content of any speeches. The cover is a still from Bomet's official livestream, captioned as such; Ruto does not appear in it.
