USIU-Africa has unveiled a new Chandaria Design Thinking Innovation and Incubation Center, opened with the Chandaria Foundation on 23 October 2026, according to the university's campus news listings.

The centre's programmes, staffing and opening dates for student intake were not stated in the listing seen, and none are invented here.

A week earlier, on 16 October, the university hosted the MSK Student Conference, which drew more than 500 students from 12 universities for sessions on marketing, artificial intelligence and innovation, according to a USIU-Africa post dated 22 October. The same listings record a gender-based violence call-handler training final session on 16 October at the Psychology Laboratory, the third part of a series; a World Pharmacy Day industrial visit; and the East Africa Hub Convening on 1–2 October.

The university's 48th Commencement took place on 26 September, with Ambe Joyceline Ngum as valedictorian. Steve Lutali Wanangwe was named National Champion at the Kenya AI x Democracy Buildathon Finals on 1 October.

This story does not touch the USIU murder case covered in live article 10. The death sentence handed down on 29 October in the case of Duncan Livingstone Kimathi, over the 2012 murder of Sarah Akello Aruwa, is the same case as article 10 — it is not duplicated here, and no victim, convicted-person or family photograph is used.

What we could not verify: the centre's programmes, intake dates or funding beyond the unveiling as listed; the names of speakers or sessions at the MSK conference beyond its theme and attendance as listed; any USIU-Africa-specific resumption notice dated 29–31 October.
