The Kenya Medical Training College is reviewing all 126 of its courses across its 92 campuses, after Members of Parliament warned that graduates cannot find jobs.

The review was announced on 26 October 2026 by KMTC Chief Executive Officer Kelly Oluoch, following a budget implementation oversight visit by the National Assembly Health Committee chaired by James Nyikal, Kenyans.co.ke reported on 27 October. The courses will be reviewed and reorganised for labour-market relevance. Oluoch also disclosed that KMTC already offers a mandatory entrepreneurship course to all learners.

That is a significant move for the country's largest medical training institution — and it lands alongside two other KMTC developments from October that are worth keeping separate.

First, a Germany dental gateway: reporting on 8 October said mandatory German language training applies to Dental Technology and Community Oral Health students in the 2026/2027 academic year, following a KMTC delegation visit to Germany with ABC Deutschland. Second, on 24 October, President William Ruto ordered the relocation of the Kilungu campus to a bigger site, after complaints about inadequate space, with Kilungu Level 4 Hospital as its clinical partner — as People Daily and Education News reported on 26 October.

A third item must be handled with care. A recruitment petition was filed on 28 October by Advocate Charles Mugane, challenging KMTC recruitment advertisements dated 5 and 21 October. The petition contains allegations only. No court order has been found, and no outcome is stated here. Separately, 678 advertised vacancies had a deadline of 30 October and are now closed — they must not be presented as open.

No new verified reporting on the Kaptumo campus clip covered in live article 11 was found from 29–31 October. Nothing new is claimed about it here.

What we could not verify: the timetable for the course review, which courses will change or close, the content of the new entrepreneurship course, or any statement from KMTC beyond the CEO's announcement as reported. The recruitment petition's claims are allegations only, with no order found.
