The 43rd Impala Floodlit tournament reached finals day on Saturday 31 October at Impala Club, Ngong Road — and two finals are already in the books.

Mwamba RFC are the women's champions. They came from behind to beat Kenya Harlequin 20–8 in the women's final, Scrummage reported on Saturday afternoon.

Quins led 8–0 early, through a Mary Chitechi penalty and a Deleon Indombo try. Diana Omoso pulled three points back for Mwamba before the break. Edith Nariaka then crossed to tie the scores, and Irene Opiyo scored twice — one of them converted by Omoso — to seal the comeback.

It is a repeat of the Kenya Cup final earlier in 2026, when Mwamba beat Quins 29–15, according to the same report.

In the varsity third-place playoff, Zetech Oaks edged USIU Martials 32–31, Scrummage reported. And in the varsity fifth-place match, Mean Machine beat Kabete Stallions 23–0, according to the same report.

The two finals every campus rugby fan was waiting for were the varsity final — defending champions JKUAT against Daystar Falcons, kicked off at 2:30pm — and the men's final, KCB against Kenya Harlequin at 7:30pm, with KCB chasing an 11th Floodlit title and Quins chasing a first in 28 years.

At the time of writing, no verified result had been published for either final. The men's plate match, Menengai Oilers against KU's Blak Blad at 4:10pm, and the men's third-place playoff, Nondies against Mwamba at 5:50pm, were also unverified.

The semi-finals told you why the varsity final mattered: JKUAT beat Zetech 45–5, and Daystar beat USIU 29–10. In the men's semis, KCB beat Mwamba 64–11 and Quins beat Nondies 28–24.

This article updates the Floodlit preview published earlier (article 07), which was written before any final had been played. It does not replace it.

What we could not verify: the results of the varsity final (JKUAT vs Daystar), the men's final (KCB vs Kenya Harlequin), the men's plate match and the men's third-place playoff — no verified report of any of them had been found at the time of writing, and no score is stated for them here. The fixture listing also differs between sources on one point: the varsity fifth-place fixture was listed in previews as Mean Machine against Kabarak Stallions, while Scrummage's results report names the opponents as Kabete Stallions — the 23–0 score is stated exactly as Scrummage reported it, and the naming difference is flagged, not settled. No match photographs from today's finals were found — the cover is an honestly captioned file photo from earlier in the tournament.
