The Technical University of Kenya crowned a new Mr and Miss TUK for 2026/2027 on Friday 6 November, closing out the Students Association of the Technical University of Kenya (SATUK) Cultural Week and SATUK Awards gala at S Block.

The gala, presented by Sherehe Vibes Africa, ran from 2:00 p.m. till late at S Block. Entry was free for TUK students and KSh 200 for non-students, with music from DJ Lux and Deejay Xavi, hyping by Hype Ola and Eugine Micah, and a guest performance by Gody Tennor.

A coronation reel posted from the event on the night shows the newly crowned pair posing together on a red carpet — the new Miss Technical University of Kenya 2026 in a gold lace gown, tiara and sash, holding a bouquet of red and white flowers, and the new Mr Technical University of Kenya 2026 in a blue patterned suit and sash, holding a ceremonial staff — against a backdrop reading "MR AND MISS TUK 2026".

SATUK has not yet published the winners' names, and neither have the university's official pages. Last year, the full winners list came five to six days after the gala, so the names are expected to follow in the coming days.

The gala closed five days of Cultural Week, which ran from Monday 2 to Friday 6 November with a different theme each day: High School on Monday, Old School on Tuesday, Sportswear on Wednesday, Cultural Wears on Thursday, and Masquerade on Friday, with the gala as the finale. Vendors took up spaces across the week from 4:00 p.m. daily.

Behind the pageant sits a bigger programme. The SATUK Awards 2026/2027, run on satukawards2026.co.ke, honour leadership, creativity, service and excellence across the student community, with 25 official categories in five areas: Honorary and Special Recognition, including the Vice-Chancellor's Award and the President's Commendation Award; Leadership, Academics and University Impact, including Student Leader of the Year and Academic Excellence; Media, Creativity and Talent, including Content Creator of the Year, Blogger of the Year and Photographer of the Year; Enterprise, Service and Community Impact, including Entrepreneurial Student of the Year and Humanitarian of the Year; and Sports Excellence, including Indoor and Outdoor Sports Person of the Year.

Nominations for the awards ran from 21 to 30 September, and voting ran from 12 to 24 October, closing on 24 October. Results from the wider awards programme have not yet been made public.

Last year, Samuel Mwendwa and Joy Nyambura were crowned Mr and Miss TU-K at the annual SATUK Awards on 24 October 2025, with Beate Otieno and Clifford Makori as first runners-up.
