Moi University graduands have until Tuesday 10 November 2026 to sort out their academic records ahead of the institution's 49th graduation ceremony, now set for Thursday 10 December 2026.
In a notice dated 28 October, the university told candidates who qualify for the conferment of degrees and award of diplomas at the end of the 2025/2026 academic year that the ceremony had been rescheduled from Thursday 3 December to Thursday 10 December.
Graduands have been directed to confirm their examination results with their respective Deans of Schools, check the spelling and order of their names, and clear all outstanding fees and other university charges. All queries, corrections and outstanding clearance issues must be submitted to the Dean of the respective School on or before Tuesday 10 November.
Missing examination marks have emerged as a concern for some students who need their academic records finalised before they can graduate, Education News reported, with the postponement coming as the nationwide lecturers' strike disrupted academic operations.
The notice was issued by the Office of the Deputy Vice-Chancellor in charge of Academics, Research, Extension and Student Affairs, Prof Khaemba Ongetii. Graduands seeking further information have been directed to the university's official website, www.mu.ac.ke, and graduation.mu.ac.ke.
In other Moi news, the university has also rolled out a selfie-based electronic attendance system in the Schools of Education and Information Sciences, and was ranked first nationally in Gender Mainstreaming for the 2025/2026 financial year by the State Department for Gender Affairs and Affirmative Action.
